CALL TO ACTION: Hawthorne Academy Student Reported Sexual Assault and was Suspended
YET ANOTHER CASE OF OUR CMS SYSTEM FAILING OUR STUDENTS
BACKGROUND: A student at Hawthorne Academy reported an alleged sexual assault and was suspended. The CMS Board has yet to comment on the incident, yet the CMPD have charged a minor with the crime. A second Hawthorne Academy student has come forward alleging sexual assault and the administrators appear to have denied a fair hearing. Students at Hawthorne Academy are expressing outrage.
CALL TO ACTION: Attend this evening's CMS Board Meeting (Nov 9th). If you can, sign up to make public comment, per the below instructions. If you cannot attend tonight, contact your CMS Board member to seek transparency, accountability, and protection of our students.

The Board of Education holds regular monthly meetings, open to the public, on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are held at the Government Center, 600 East Fourth Street, unless indicated otherwise on the meeting schedule. Live broadcasts of regular board meetings air on CMS-TV Cable 3 and are video-streamed live.
