Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, Sasha Duncan is a graduating senior at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte majoring in Communications with a concentration in Mass Media while minoring in Sociology. She serves as President of the Network of enlightened Women (NeW) and is currently a marketing intern with the national NeW organization.
Sasha started her interest in politics during the 2008 President Election by accompanying her dad to fundraisers and volunteering for local candidates. Come 2012, Sasha held the Chairman positions of Teenage Republicans at her high school before becoming a N.C. House of Representatives Page sponsored by Marilyn Avila and later a Governor’s Page during Pat McCrory’s term.
More recently, Sasha worked on the Grassroots Team for Mark Harris for Congress in District 9 of North Carolina, which introduced her to the Mecklenburg Evening Republican Women’s Club, where she currently serves as Social Media and Website Chair. Sasha also serves as the Campaign Coordinator for Brandon Pierce for City Council at Large and is managing Michael DeSantis’ campaign to become the next Chairman of the North Carolina Federation of College Republicans.
With an extensive background in marketing – web content development, search engine optimization, link building and more – Sasha is excited to become a part of the Mecklenburg County Republican Party board and implement her social media engagement and graphic design skills. Sasha recently started her own marketing agency, Duncan Design, and is partnering with Conservative Connections, a new up and coming political consulting firm in the Charlotte area. Combining the two things she loves most – marketing and politics, this position could not be filled by someone more excited!
