Chris Poulton
Special Events Co-Chair

Chris Poulton is originally from Ohio and moved down to Charlotte in 1990 when he was only 7 years old. Thanks to his parents and his extended family, Chris has been raised right and has always considered himself a Republican. Chris has always had an interest in politics but it wasn’t until he made the decision to attend CPAC last year that the passion he had inside for politics came out. Chris went up to CPAC by himself but he said it was one of the best decisions he has ever made and one of the best experiences of his life. Since he returned from CPAC, Chris has been very involved with the Young Republicans of Mecklenburg County and the MeckGOP. This past election cycle Chris spent many of his weekends volunteering and canvassing for Mark Harris, Scott Stone and Dan Bishop. Chris recently accepted the position as Campaign Committee Chairman on the Young Republicans of Mecklenburg County board. Some of the highlights of Chris’s young political career has been meeting Vice President Mike Pence, Senator Tim Scott, Ben Shapiro and Charlie Kirk.

Chris graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor’s in Hospitality and Tourism Management. One of his biggest passions in hospitality is event planning and one of his favorite events he helped planned was a weekend in New York City for the company he currently works at. Chris currently works in branch operations for a financial planning company here in Charlotte along with working a few nights a week as a server at a sushi restaurant in the Ballantyne area.

Other than politics, one of Chris’s passion is sports. Chris is a huge Panthers, Ohio State and UNC basketball fan. Sundays in the fall you can find him with his younger brother at Bank of America Stadium cheering on the Panthers. Chris had the opportunity to be in the Panthers locker room after a game and Chris has also been handed a ball from his favorite player, Cam Newton, after a Panthers touchdown.
