District 12 News - Week of September 27, 2021

Dear Friends,

Well, it is officially Fall!  Even though we have some warm days ahead, I can feel the crispness of that end of summer chill in the air.  So much, that my heat kicked on in my house this past weekend.  And every November, we have ELECTIONS!

The other day I came across the Yogi Berra saying, “The future aint what it used to be.”  As I pondered the ways that this quote can be interpreted, what came to mind was what folks are feeling today about politics, especially when it comes to Republican candidates.  Many are angry about the 2020 elections, vowing to never vote again because they believe there was fraud, and their vote won’t count. They were so hopeful about what our future held while voting last November, only to find out that our future would be drastically different come January, 2021.

I have been around long enough to see Mecklenburg County go from a strong Republican presence to what it is today, a Democrat dominated mess.  Excluding municipalities, we can fit all other county-wide elected Republicans in one booth at McDonalds. There are many reasons why this has happened, as most large cities in the country are overrun by Democrats too.  Those who have been fleeing from hi taxes and hi crime cities, register as Democrat in their new city. This makes me want to bang my head against a wall as these new residents just don't seem to connect the dots as to what caused them to move.

So, what are we going to do about future elections?  First, I encourage you to help those Republicans who are running in the 6 Municipalities in the county right now for 2021.  Then, start helping Republicans in the 2022 election.  How? This newsletter has ways to get involved.  Everything from donating money, registering voters, and gathering with likeminded folks to energize the base. Regardless of what you feel about the system, there will still be folks wanting to serve you and need help in doing so.

The future is yours!
