MeckGOP Announces 2022 Precinct Meeting and County Convention Details

NOTE: ONLY REGISTERED MECKLENBURG COUNTY REPUBLICANS WILL BE ADMITTED TO PRECINCT MEETINGS AND NORTH CAROLINE REGISTERED REPUBLICANS WILL BE ADMITTED TO THE COUNTY CONVENTION. ALL NON-REPUBLICANS WILL BE TURNED AWAY.

Precinct Meeting Details

The MeckGOP will hold its 2022 Precinct meeting on Saturday, February 5 at Myers Park High School’s cafeteria at 2400 Colony Road in Charlotte.

Republicans residing in County Commission Districts 1-3 will meet at 9:00AM. Registration starts at 8:30AM.

Republicans residing in County Commission Districts 4-6 will meet at 1:00PM. Registration starts at 12:30PM.

* Please note that precinct officers are elected for two-year terms in odd years. We do not elect precinct officers in 2022. *

In addition, poll observer training will be offered for any interested Mecklenburg County Republican, including poll workers, from 11:30AM-12:30PM. A boxed lunch is available for $11 but must be preordered by 5:00PM on Friday, February 4. There will be no walkup orders and no refunds will be issued for non-attendance.

All Republicans are encouraged to submit absentee forms, even if they plan on attending the precinct meeting. The form is due by 6:00PM on Thursday, February 3, 2022.

ONLY REPUBLICANS REGISTERED BY JANUARY 31, 2022 WILL BE ALLOWED INTO EACH MEETING. YOU MAY ONLY ATTEND THE PRECINCT MEETING THAT CORRESPONDS WITH YOUR DISTRICT.

Per the Plan of Organization, the County Chairman shall call such precinct meeting to be held during the month of February or March and shall give at least 10 days written notice of the time and place of said meetings to all Precinct Chairmen and give Public Notice on county party's website. This notice was posted on December 17, 2021.

 


County Convention Details

In accordance with Article IV of the Mecklenburg County Republican Party's Plan of Organization, notice is hereby given that the 2022 Mecklenburg County Convention will be held at 9:00AM on Saturday, March 5. We will conduct Party business, hear from elected officials and Republican candidates and sign up for get-out-the-vote efforts. The County Convention shall elect delegates and alternates to the Congressional District and State Conventions.

Time: 9:00 AM (8:30AM Registration)

Victory Christian Center Campus 3 Auditorium

6916 Old Pineville Road, Charlotte

Registration begins at 8:30 AM and the meeting begins promptly at 9:00 AM. Doors close at 9:00AM sharp. Please note that doors will not open until 8:00AM.

Only delegates and alternates seated at the February 5 precinct meeting will be voting delegates and alternates at the county convention, but guests are welcome to attend. All attendees must pay the registration fee.

Registration is $20. Please note that convention registration fees are used to offset precinct meeting and convention costs and the required state party fee that must be collected per the Plan of Organization. You may pre-register here.

To submit any resolutions, suggested changes to the Plan of Organization or names of dearly departed for our memoriam, send them to [email protected] no later than February 19 and they will be forwarded to the appropriate committee.
