Kathy Davis has been Treasurer of the Mecklenburg County Republican Party since March 2016. Prior, Kathy was the Treasurer for Mecklenburg County BOCC At-Large Republican candidate Emily Zuyus.
Kathy has a BBA in Accounting from the University of Oklahoma. Straight out of college she worked for two of the largest public accounting firms in the world, KPMG and Deloitte, as a CPA on audit side of the business. Her clients ranged from the second largest utility company in the U.S. to the Greater Carolinas American Red Cross.
Kathy took time off from her career to raise her three children, all which were born and raised in Charlotte. Her husband, Skeeter is a Charlotte native as well.
In 2012, Kathy spearheaded the effort to get the 2011 Mecklenburg County Revaluation corrected as it was not performed in accordance with the Machinery Act or the Schedule of Values approved by the BOCC. She was part of the small group that was enlisted by Senator Jeff Tarte to help write the Property Tax Revaluation bill which resulted in Mecklenburg County property owners being refunded approximately $100 million in property taxes. As a result of her efforts, she was elected by the BOCC to the Board of Equalization and Review which is the board that hears property owners’ appeals. She has served on that board for six years and has just been unanimously reappointed for another three years by the Mecklenburg County BOCC.
Kathy is an avid Oklahoma Sooners and Carolina Panthers football fan. She enjoys spending time with family, going to the beach and riding horses.
