Say NO MASKS IN SCHOOLS in Mecklenburg County

UPDATE: Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education Votes for Mask Mandate

Thank you to all of you who attended the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Board meeting on July 30th.  Despite ours and others' efforts, the Board voted 8-1 to require masks in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for the 2021-2022 school year, with a review at the end of each quarter. While several other North Carolina County's school boards have voted to make wearing of masks optional, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools now require all students, staff, volunteers, and visitors to wear masks while inside schools and on buses.

Sean Strain was the only board member to vote against wearing masks.

The next CMS Board Meeting is August 10 at 6:00 P.M. in the Chamber Room of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center, 600 East 4th Street.  To sign up to speak email [email protected]. If you miss the cut off time of noon the day of the meeting, you may sign up at the dais 15 min prior to the meeting.
We need you to attend the CMS Board of Education's special meeting to advocate for NO MASKS IN SCHOOLS IN MECKLENBURG COUNTY!
